Namjoo Han is on a roll. She’s died one hundred and twenty-six times and she’s not looking to slow down anytime soon. She’s stuck in Sonamu jjimjilbang, a Korean bathhouse afterlife circle that accommodates spirits that were wronged in their former lives. It’s not the worst way to spend eternity, but Namjoo has unfinished business back in the real world. Too bad that Sonamu has been intricately designed to keep people in, and doles painful deaths to anyone who tries to get out. To escape, Namjoo might need the help of some other Sonamu residents, including a joseung saja, a Korean grim reaper, who might be helping Namjoo just to get her out of his hair. Sonamu’s labyrinth holds more than trapdoors and beasts though, and navigating it might force Namjoo to face the biggest monster of all: herself.
