Hounds and Gardens is a sensational celebration of beautifully designed British gardens and the characterful dogs who live in them. Photographer India Hobson visits 19 gardens, from flower-filled country estates and productive growing spaces to wilder, more informal landscapes. Step inside an enchanting walled garden in rural Somerset, a 70-acre flower farm in Cornwall and a wildlife-friendly oasis in Edinburgh. And at the heart of each garden is a dog. Captured through a mixture of digital and 35mm film photography, these are portraits of gardens not simply as designed spaces, but as places that are lived in; plants spill over borders and dogs roam, sleep, play and occasionally get underfoot. Meanwhile, interviews with the custodians and caretakers discuss both their artistic vision and the beloved dogs (of all shapes and sizes) that bring their green spaces to life. Hounds and Gardens is a playful and visually stunning marriage of flora and fauna.
