War

From the award-winning creators of ILLEGAL and GLOBAL comes a third timely and thoughtful graphic novel this time looking at war - with glorious colour artwork throughout for children of all ages. Set in an unnamed city in an unnamed country, WAR follows fourteen-year-old Kat, a graffiti artist whose world is shattered by invasion. But where buildings crumble, the human spirit endures. When her father is wrongfully detained by invading forces, Kat refuses to flee. Remaining behind in the ruins, she transforms the scarred city walls into symbols of defiance and hope, rallying a community that refuses to be broken. As ordinary strangers risk their lives to protect one another, Kat discovers the profound capacity for human goodness in the face of absolute terror. Across the battle lines is Adam, a young conscript wrestles with a war he never wanted. His path reveals a parallel truth: that even under the weight of military pressure, humanity can still break through. With additional content that puts the main story into a wider context including interviews with war refugees.
