For readers who loved Katherine Rundell's Impossible Creatures or Somain Chainani's The School for Good and Evil. Tibor is a child of the night, a werewolf, adopted by his guardian, a powerful vampire. When Tibor discovers he is doomed by a deadly curse, he and his friend Rosa set out to find the only cure, a long-buried treasure with magical powers. The search takes them to the remote Black Mountain, where cave bears roam the slopes and ogres guard the sacred flame. The friends soon discover that they are not the only ones looking for the lost hoard. But fighting monsters is just the beginning for Tibor, who discovers something else long buried beneath the mountain - something far more powerful than any gold or jewels. For who will dare reveal the secrets of the Midnight Treasure? In this spectacular, irresistible treasure hunt there will be clues, spells, imprisonments and escapes, fights, betrayals ... but above all there will be courage and hope.
