This Modern Love Now

Have you ever wanted to write something to a partner or ex? What is the best and worst message you’ve received on a dating app? What would you say to your last hook up? Following ten years after the publication of This Modern Love , Will Darbyshire - now in his thirties - looks at how modern love has changed with This Modern Love Now . Receiving thousands of submissions from men and women around the world, from hopeless romantics to OnlyFans stars, Will delves into the enduring themes that continue to shape modern dating. These include the evolving political landscape regarding cisgendered men and women, the rise of dating apps and the prevalence of ‘situationships’, and the ever-changing dynamics of queer romances. Amidst the unprecedented connectivity we enjoy in the digital age, paradoxically, we also experience a profound sense of loneliness. Equally, messages left on read and the dreaded 'ghosting' being pitfalls of the modern dating age, the making of this book has invited the public to share those letters and messages left unsent. This Modern Love Now is a time capsule of the present. Of how our expectations and reality diverge when it comes to matters of the heart…and the occasional one-night stand.
